Watford Girls' Grammar into second year of visits

A second year 10 from Watford Grammar School for Girls has continued to visit Runwood Group's Greenbanks home in the town.

The 14-15 year-olds arrive by minibus in groups of 10-20 and stay for two hours – one hour to learn about dementia and the role of care homes in the community and one hour of mingling with residents.

Runwood trainer Sarah Pettit says the residents love meeting each new set of girls.

It is hoped that when the girls enter the sixth-form some of them will want to visit

Poole YOPEY Befrienders' own photos of Easter egg hunt

A couple of YOPEY Befrienders organised an Easter egg hunt for the residents of Care UK's The Potteries care home in Poole, Dorset.

They roped in several other YOPEY Befrienders from their school, Parkstone Grammar school for girls, and even one boy from Poole Grammar.

These are their own photos. I'm afraid your photos with Lucy, one of the most popular residents, are missing. These is because the home does not have permission for us to publish photos with her in them.

Beauty pageants nowadays are more than about looks. The contestants in this year's Miss Norfolk and Miss Suffolk competitions choose to fundraise for YOPEY.

As part of her reign Miss Suffolk, Brooke Smith, has asked to visit and help out with YOPEY Befriender schemes.
